The Future of Cinema Won

I just wanted to write something quick in order to say a few things that I think I need to be said. I alway had a tendency to start a NEW SERIES and then several weeks later, end it unceremoniously and never mention it again. And here's why. I don't want Cinema Won to be a job. I may not get paid, have the bigger fanbase or anything like that. But I think I do well and maybe this will grow into something big. Well, bigger. But, I will only do this if I am enjoying it. And series force me into deadline and making watching the film I review an assignment. I do it for work and not for enjoyment, which I think sways the review and takes the fun out of it. So, from now on, I will not be starting any new series. Maybe when I can get videos done, I'll bring back a few, alongside my plans for Awfully Direct. But for now, no more series. I may however start doing more of these monthly themes. If I can plan ahead some and get a manageable number of film to be reviewed, then this could be a fun addition to Cinema Won. And, as always, I will gladly take suggestions and work with others if they are willing to. After all, who knows where this is going to go?

The 200th Review: Box Office Purgatory: "The Invasion (2007)"

Yes, after nearly 2 and a half years and over 400 posts, I have written 200 whole reviews. That's 199 films (X-Men:First Class counts double!) and nearly 350 hours of cinema. And how do I celebrate? By once again introducing a new series that will run for a long time here on Cinema Won (Awfully Direct isn't dead...  mostly). So, now, I proudly introduce Box Office Purgatory! Each week (Give or take) I will look at a notorious box office bomb, many from the list of the 50 biggest bombs of all time (From the "always untrustworthy" Wikipedia). I will give them a review, explain how badly they failed, why I think they failed and if they deserved better. Plus, on the Box Office Purgatory page, I will rank the bombs from best to worst. Now, let's kick things off by not falling asleep!

NEW SERIES: Robot Ninjas vs Dragon Zombies: Season 1, Episode 1: "Killer Klowns From Outer Space"

Yes, it's time again to introduce another new series on Cinema Won. In this new series, titled Robot Ninjas vs Dragon Zombies, each episode I will be reviewing a film with an insane title and/or premise and deciding whether or not it lives up to it's insane premise and/or title. Like Awfully Direct, this show will have 13-episode seasons before going on a short break. And to kick off the series... well, if you're afraid of clowns, sorry.

NEW SERIES: This Month In... 2008: "One Missed Call"

This being the new year and all, I think it's time to get a new series on the site (And yes, Awfully Direct will still come back in February). This new series, called This Month In..., has a pretty simple premise. Every month I'll choose a month between 2004 and 2010 (The movie release calenders for these months are the easiest to find and most plentiful) and each Friday (NOTE: This review was supposed to come out yesterday, but technical problems made me release it a day late) I'll review one movie that was released the same Friday in that month. For example, this month I chose to use January 2008 as our jumping off point. This week is the first week of 2013 and I'll be review One Missed Call, which was released the first week in 2008. Next week, I'll review a movie from the second week of 2008 and so on and so forth untill the end of the month. Now, on with the review!

NEW SERIES: Modern Art: Episode 1: Vanilla Extract

I know I have been a slacker lately due to the holiday and a major school project I have to finish. However to make it up to you guys, how about I introduce an all new bi-weekly series. Sound good? Good. Without further ado, here's Modern Art, Episode 1!
