Cinema Won's Top Ten Best Films of 2012

Happy New Year! It is officially 2013 and that means it's time to say what the best films of 2012 were. Like in my worst list, I haven't seen every film released in 2012. Argo, Cloud Atlas and The Hobbit I was unable to see in time for this list, though they could have definitely been on here if I had. And also like the worst list, these are my personal picks. If you don't agree, then that's your opinion. Now, before we get to the top ten, let's look at some that just missed the list.

The Avengers vs Galactus?

With the success of The Avengers, it's really no surprise that other studios are a little more willing to work with Marvel Studios. Case in point, Fox Studios are looking to make a trade with Marvel Studios. Fox owns the rights to several Marvel characters, including the X-Men series. They are currently trying to make reboots of their other two, less successful series The Fantastic Four and Daredevil. The problem is that the rights to Daredevil are running out, so Fox is reportedly willing to give Marvel Studios the rights back for Fantastic Four characters Galactus and The Silver Surfer is exchange for letting Fox keep Daredevil.

Ghostbusters and Avengers and Piranhas, Oh My!

Just a few quick little news articles:

- Bill Murray is offically NOT going to be in Ghostbusters 3. This of course begs the question: Why the hell are we making Ghostbusters 3? I usually have a very open mind about sequels and all of that but this is gonna reallllly suck.

- The final trailer for The Avengers was released this week and, among other things, showed us a giant snake-like monster that the Avengers will have to fight. Plus, The Hulk saving Iron Man? Awesome. Still a little to Iron Man focused though.

- The first trailer for the continuously-delayed Piranha 3DD was also released this week and boy do it suck. The first one was bad and this one looks even worse. Piranhas can kill someone one way and that way isn't even very interesting.

It's Like the Super Bowl for Superheroes!

Ok. Yes, the Patriots lost. It was a close game. But they lost. I knew they were going to lose. And they did. Disappointing. But expected. But how unexpectedly awesome was The Avengers:

Short Stuff Worth Talking About

- The Avengers Trailer. I don't remember my reaction because I had passed out after the first couple seconds. After watching 12 more times I can safely say, it is good.

- The next Die Hard movie is going to be called A Good Day to Die Hard and come out Valentine's Day 2013. So far, I like that title a lot. It sounds cool. Or it sounds like the newest James Bond movie. Speaking of James Bond...

- Javier Bardem was annoucned this week as the villain for Bond 23 which is pretty cool. Also, the possible titles for the new movie include the awful Carte Blanche and the really cool Skyfall. I wonder which one they'll go with...

- The sequel to the awesome Taken, titled Taken 2 (What did you think it was going to be titled?), will be released on October 5, 2012. It will follow the Liam Neeson's family gets taken hostage... again.

- The sequel to the Percy Jackson movie, which I actually liked, is going to be released on March 27, 2013. It's titled Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
