While at first I wasn't going to talk about this, the
overwhelmingly negative reaction to the latest bit of Michael Bay news makes it a little more worth talking about. Michael Bay is currently producing a new adaptation of the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Along with sadly another
Transformers). And he has recently announced that the turtles will no longer be the creation of a mysterious radioactive goo from a sewer, but now
they're just aliens.
While I have never been the biggest
TMNT fan, and I feel the negative reaction is a bit extreme, I do get that change such an integral part of the characters' mythos, especially from a cool, interesting idea to just aliens, for many big fans is almost sacrilegious. Bay probably won't change his mind, but hey, the last time he did something like this it didn't turn out that bad, did it?
